About The Artist

From the very beginning I was immersed in the forest realm, ruled by Mother Nature, herself. With my own Mother and Father who were well versed in the ways of plants and animals, there was no escaping the influence it had on me.

Foraging with my Mother for mushrooms and micro greens and acorns to make flour. Growing flowers and vegetables and herbs in our gardens. Being taught how to care for them and all of the goodness and nutrients they would provide us in return.

Tracking different animals with my Father; his lessons on being very patient and still that will result in tiny little chipmunk hands eating from your own or birds landing on you because you’ve sat as still as a tree.

Learning about the trees that surround us and the plants that grow and give to us. Finding animal bones picked clean and bleached from the sun; the result of Mother Nature and her brutal but amazing lessons on the cycle of life. I would bring them home as a reminder.

I’ve always carried these memories with me. The reminder that although many things can be out of our control, the help and kindness of others could be the only thing that helps us get through it.

Herbs and Bones is the result of my childhood, and I never want to take any of it for granted.

I hope you find something here that helps you feel the way I do when I’m creating, or just existing in nature.
