"Kurbis" OOAK art doll

This art doll (I’ve named Kurbis after the German word for pumpkin) is 100% handmade by me.

Kurbis stands at about 12 inches tall. Although I was able to balance the doll just right for photos, I do not trust it to stand on its own. I suggest a doll stand, or resting its back against something if you want to pose it standing up.

I started it like I do most of my art dolls, with a wire armature wrapped in lots and lots of yarn and a flexible but strong glue to keep it in place.

I sculpted a head made from my favorite polymer clay, hand-painted it , and then sealed it with a matte spray varnish.
The clothing is all handmade and removable, including a micro-crochet sweater and felt boots.

The boots actually have a small piece of velcro inside that attaches to another piece of velcro on the foot (or knub) of the doll, ensuring they stay on when moving around or posing.

My dolls are made to be durable and poseable, but they are still art pieces, not toys intended for rough play.
